Minimalist Designs by Sestra's Kitchen
Minimalist cakes are simple to make and require minimal ingredients. They are usually baked in small pans and are often decorated with icing and sprinkles. The term “minimalist cake” was coined in the 1970s by American author Betty Fussell. She used the term to describe ones that were simple to bake and decorate. In other words, it is a simple and plain-looking. It can be made with only two or three ingredients. These minimally decorated ones are often used for birthdays, weddings, graduations, anniversaries, etc., where the recipient wants to show off their creativity but not spend much money on it. A minimalist design may also have no decorations at all; such would simply look like an ordinary layer of icing between layers of sponge cake.
Minimalist designs can be made using a variety of different recipes. Some common ones include chocolate chip cookies, brownies, cupcakes, and even cheesecake.
What is the meaning of minimalist cake?
Minimalism means having less than you need or want. In this case, it refers to the fact that there aren’t many ingredients needed for making a minimalist design. It’s also about simplicity – not too much work involved. A minimalist design doesn’t have any frosting on top; instead, it has just some decorations like sprinkles and colored sugar crystals.
There are several types of minimalist designs:
• Chocolate-chip cookie
• Brownie
• Cupcake
• Cheesecake
• Cookie dough
• Cake pops
Why is it called minimalist?
The word “minimal” comes from the Latin words minima and mensa. Minimizing something makes it smaller or simpler. So when someone says they’re going to minimize their spending, they mean they will spend as little money as possible. When people talk about minimizing their time, they mean doing things efficiently so they don’t waste time. This concept applies to food, especially desserts. If you use fewer ingredients, then your dessert won’t take up more space in your refrigerator. And if you use fewer utensils, then you’ll save time cleaning them after each meal.
How do I know what kind of recipe to choose?
You should look at the ingredient list before choosing which type of minimalist design to try out. You may find that one particular recipe includes lots of buttercream frosting while another uses only whipped cream cheese. Or maybe you’d prefer a cake pop recipe over a regular recipe because you think it would taste better. Whatever your preference, you’ll get exactly what you want!
Which recipe is best?
It depends on how creative you are. There are no rules for making a minimalist design except that it must contain few ingredients. For example, you could create an Oreo cake by mixing together two cups of vanilla wafer crumbs, three eggs, and four tablespoons of melted butter. Then add enough milk to moisten everything. Bake until golden brown and serve warm. Another option is to mix together six ounces of softened cream cheese, eight ounces of powdered sugar, and half a teaspoon of vanilla extract. Add a couple of teaspoons of water and beat well. Use a piping bag to fill mini muffin tins with batter. Once filled, sprinkle with colored sugars and let cool completely.
Other ideas for a minimalist design include:
- Mix together five egg whites, one tablespoon of lemon juice, and one pound of white chocolate chips. Fold in one-quarter cup of flour and pour into greased pan. Sprinkle with granulated sugar and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes. Let cool and cut into squares. Serve plain or topped with fresh strawberries.
- Make a peanut butter sandwich cake by spreading peanut butter between two slices of bread. Top with jelly and slice into triangles.
- Combine one package of instant pudding with one box of yellow cake mix. Pour mixture into prepared loaf pan and bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 minutes. Cool and dust with confectioners’ sugar.
- Spread jam onto graham cracker crust and cover with sliced bananas. Chill overnight and garnish with chopped nuts.
- To make a banana split cake, combine two boxes of devil’s food mix, one large ripe banana, and 1/2 cup of sour cream. Beat all ingredients thoroughly and spread evenly into a 9×13 inch pan lined with parchment paper. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes. Remove plastic wrap and place in the freezer for 15 minutes. Cut into small cubes and freeze again. Garnish with sprinkles and drizzle with caramel sauce.
